I felt that a lot of the images in jeff soto’s work were very iconic like the images of these alien like arms that are in many of his pieces are in my perception from the movie war of the worlds and then i also saw the images of the fast food chain KFC in the top corner of one of his installations and i felt that it was pretty much self explanatory in its reference. I felt though that his graffiti multimedia installation pieces are very interesting and i really like the style of smooth painting he puts throughout his pieces.

She uses the images of the religious figures in the pureland picture and parallels the same image in the burning picture. These religious figures are in that they both are floating and have the same dress on in relation to the japanese culture.

I felt like this work was very well rendered by the old pictures and how they were cut? colored and placed in these landscape paintings. I really feel like the use of other objects besides the people allows for a more flowing piece and gives a great picture to the narrative content o which she is portraying. Even more so i feel the way she made the prints and the size also is very intriguing to me and only adds to the content that each work holds.

I found that a lot of these images were weird and discomforting and that i was drawn to the way the faces and the peoples bodies were removed of certain characteristic parts and appendages and then when i saw the images of rooms with the human skin as wallpaper it was alarming and sort of turned me off of the artwork and got me into this ohh gross kinda feel especially with the whole video of her latest work and the weird breathing sound really creeped me out.

I felt that these pictures were very odd and disturbing in that these bring a sense of uneasiness to the viewer and sort of present a taboo in that they are like things that are of a odd nature like the child with the blindfold holding a gun to the toy girl, and the image of the stuffed animal throwing up its cotton insides and then the very disturbing image of the mickey mouse painted face with like metal sharp teeth was very troubling as well as the x-ray of a person with a gun stuffed in there mouth just make you want to know more but also give various emotions of wanting to look away and its very appealing and just a mix of emotions towards the pieces.

I really felt like a lot of the photos were a bit odd but i particularly like the black and white photos were it looked like a cloud or a ghostly remains of people passing by o there various commutes and it really gave like this sense of motion and loneliness and that its a mundane life and the various areas of high traffic and how people can just pass you by and i really felt that these pieces i really connected to the most.

I chose these angles of my face because i felt it was more abstract but yet allowed the viewer to still comprehend that it was me. I refaced some areas of the photos and changed some of the curves and such to allow for a darker feel to the collage.

Map Project

I chose the idea of a old map like those of the first made in which the purpose for the map was in fact to give relevant distance and positioning for ship in commute to gather various materials from the “new World”. Thus i chose to put each persons route to mason in a relevant position and parallel the idea of commuting in relative distance on a map and use various symbolic ideas like a compass and a measurement bar to give a feel of travel and commuting.

I feel like these pictures were taken of a mid twenties group of people and probably in some European country judging by the clothes and the environment around them isn’t as clean nor updated as many of todays grocery stores and or department stores and the enivroment socialy is a very mudane feeling but is often very loud and socialbe and many people often are mixed in there feeling when in these stores. I also feel that the lighting via florescent lighting is very dreary and give high contrast but yet also allows for a focus on the unusual floating movement of the people in each picture. and i guess the meaning is the emotion felt while in these stores and i dont exactly get it fulling nor do i believe it was achieved
